UROC Program Analyst – Gates Foundation Predoctoral Fellow
Demond Hill Jr. is a Ph.D. student at the University of California, Berkeley, in the Department of Social Welfare. His research interests are at the intersection of Emotions, Child & Youth Development, Race, and Well-Being. Specifically, utilizing critical theories, Demond’s work looks at the whole development of Black children/youth with the goal of designing prevention and intervention programs that promote healing in the everyday lives of Black children/youth. As a former educator and youth worker who is also a community-based scholar, Demond is committed to collectively creating a liberatory world for communities of color.
